Reaper Arena is a simple game. The goal is to survive and beat as many opponents as you can until you join your ancestors in the afterlife.
The combat is based on old role playing rules. The player and the enemy face off by rolling their dices each turn.
The rolled value and the weapon multipliers combined define the basic attack power of the character. When you advance in levels you will have more and more D6 to roll with, so you will have the chance to unleash your true powers.
The basic attack values of the player and the enemy are compared, and the difference is the base damage. We subtract the player/enemy defense from the base damage so we get the actual damage inflicted.
Your defense depends on your weapon skills. Master and advance in each weapon class to have more defense while fighting with one.
When you face your enemy, your weapon decides what chances you got against your opponent. Each weapon multiplier is calculated at the beginning of every battle.
Every weapon has its strengths and weaknesses.
Just like stone-paper-scissors, but you can save yourself when the odds are against you. Use your magic skills to change the multipliers of you character or your enemy.
You can cast special abilities to support yourself in combat. You will have a limited number of casts, so time them well.
It's a turn based game, so you can only cast magic skills between rolls and not when a roll is in progress.
The true warrior never goes down that easy, so you will have a special power called "Last Chance".
It activates automatically when your HP drops below 20% and it replaces your normal "Attack" with a more powerfull "Strike" skill giving you extra dices to roll with.
You will face bosses every 5th level. They have more HP and more defense then any regular enemy.
As other enemies they will become stronger each time. Some of them even use skills to dominate. Defeat them to gain additional skills and score bonuses.
Finish your enemies fast, because after some time they will become furious and enter their berserk mode.
To make it to the Hall of Fame you will need all the scores you can get. You can earn the following special score bonuses in the arena:
Use this option carefully. If you activate it, your character will auto attack the enemy, but it won't cast any magic skills.
It is useful when you are tired of clicking the 'Attack' button, but it can be your suicide if you don't pay attention.
You can't cast magic skills until you disable this option and wait for the roll to finish. Available after level 5.
